GLOW artwork

Lighting up Barking & Dagenham with a message of hope and togetherness

GLOW is returning to Barking and Dagenham this April with illuminated art that will be seen from windows and doorsteps.

Curated by a group of CBD Cultural Connectors the festival will shine a light on the borough and share a message of hope and togetherness.

Artworks will pop up in different places across the borough so they can be enjoyed safely from your home. We would ask that you do not travel to see the artworks. Stay safe and enjoy GLOW at home.

Families can get creative at home with our GLOW activity sheets.

GLOW has always been about bringing our diverse communities together to enjoy some light and a sense of hope. I am more excited about this year than ever before. After the last 12 months, we all needed a beacon of hope to brighten our way out of darkness. When planning GLOW, we’ve been trying to figure out how to connect the communities of our borough through art, even though we were no longer able to meet face to face. I have to say I am very proud of all of us who were involved. We had to think outside of the box and together we have achieved something quite spectacular.
