Presented by the East London Creative People and Places Network and Art School Plus.
We’re excited to be a presenting a brilliant opportunity for artists who live in or are connected to Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge.
Creative Barking and Dagenham will be commissioning three artists to co-create an ongoing programme of creative activity, an artwork and/or events in public spaces with three Barking and Dagenham communities.
The deadline is Wednesday 8 January 2025, 12am.
Funding News
We have been awarded additional funding from Arts Council England.
This funding will allow us to continue our work up-to March 2026. We are incredibly pleased to be able to bring even more incredible creative opportunities to residents.
We are part of the Creative People and Places programme, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Thanks to National Lottery players, Creative People and Places is about more people taking the lead in choosing, creating and taking part in creative and cultural experiences where they live.

Winter Light Parades
Led by the internationally acclaimed street theatre company, Picto Facto from Toulouse, France. The Winter Light parades took place across Barking and Dagenham in November 2024.

Light Box Workshops
Ahead of the Winter Light Parades, locals were invited to make bright, colourful light boxes. This was a creative workshop for all ages, taking place in community venues across the borough.

Our Summer Events
Huge thanks to everyone who came along to experience Pram People, Morphosis and the Luminarium this summer. It was incredible to see so many people come along and get involved.
