Join our trip to Light Up Leicester as a community resident supporting in Creative Barking and Dagenham's research activities to bring new and exciting cultural events to the borough.
We’re looking for a small number of residents who are interested in providing insight, local knowledge of the borough, and ideas about what kinds of events the communities of Barking and Dagenham would enjoy seeing in their area.
The day will consist of viewing artworks, travelling around the city of Leicester, participating in discussions and providing community input that Creative Barking and Dagenham will use to help formulate its 2025/26 Winter Programme.
The day will be full and require a fair bit of walking, however, it will be fully accessible with all expenses covered by Creative Barking and Dagenham.
Community Research Trip to Light Up Leicester
Join Creative Barking and Dagenham to see St Paul's in a whole new light. Transforming the interior of this iconic London landmark, the world premiere of 'Luminous' by Luxmuralis offers a breathtaking fusion of art, sound, and architecture.
What to expect:
This will be an adults only trip, operating on a 'pay what you can' system.
We'll be meeting outside Barking Station at 6pm, and travelling by tube to St Paul's. If you prefer to meet us there we will have a second meeting point outside St Paul's station at 6:45pm.
This immersive sound and light show lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and features flashing lights and loud sounds. It may not be suitable for those with epilepsy or light sensitivity.

Funding News
We have been awarded additional funding from Arts Council England.
This funding will allow us to continue our work up-to March 2026. We are incredibly pleased to be able to bring even more incredible creative opportunities to residents.
We are part of the Creative People and Places programme, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Thanks to National Lottery players, Creative People and Places is about more people taking the lead in choosing, creating and taking part in creative and cultural experiences where they live.
