Residents’ trip to see Lumiere

‘I had the most wonderful weekend and am still buzzing!’

We went to see Lumiere light festival in Durham and Bishop Auckland with a group of residents from the borough.

Hear from the people who came along about their experiences and watch the video of our weekend trip.

Previous Global Streets projects: Light Games at Valence House; Dundu - a giant illuminated puppet who led the Becontree Lantern Parade; and Global Rainbow, which beamed over rooftops of Barking in Dagenham during the COVID pandemic.

New funding awarded to bring international arts to the borough

We’re delighted to tell you that over the next three years world-class arts will be coming to the borough.

This is thanks to more funding from Arts Council England for Global Streets, a national network that we are part of along with 12 other organisations across England.

Over the past three years, Global Streets has supported us to bring international arts and events to the borough.

We look forward to updating you with news on the next Global Streets supported event soon.

What we’ve done
